Rainbow region Community Noticeboard

Following the 1973 Nimbin Aquarius Festival the term Rainbow Region started to be used referring to the Far North Coast of NSW, Australia. Rainbow Region however was always more than just a geographical location. It has included the social landscape of people who actively pursued personal harmony, environmental sustainability, social justice, joy, fun and happiness.

The internet portal byronevents.net was launched in 2003 to provide up to date information about the large number of retreats, workshops, festivals, music and art events in the Byron Bay - Lismore - Nimbin area. In recent years this service has expanded well beyond Byron Bay to better reflect the spirit of a Social Rainbow Region.
