Rosebank Music Club

Our May event at Repentance Creek Hall went over well—plenty of good music and food but more people would have made all the effort even more worthwhile.

Miraculo’s magic thrills all

Thanks to all the performers—to Rohan for a fantastic performance tripling as the Magnificent Miraculo the Magician, an enjoyable shakuhachi improviser and the MC on the night. Thrillbilly Stomp as promised got us up, and stomping around happily. Thanks to all the regulars, Folklore, Bill and Marcus, Kindred Spirits, Steev Mack, Ron Cleary and Lance. We also had impromptu performances from Neil Edwards, Rohan Langford and Didier.

A big thanks to Matt from Minyon for donating several loaves of sourdough rye bread, which went fantastically with the two choices of yummy soups lovingly prepared by Llyr and served with Benny’s help. Kurt deserves a huge thank you also for setting up and manning the PA and also delivering a quality sound.

The Thrillbilly’s thrill some more

It must be noted that everyone volunteered their services—waiving any payment for the PA, manning the door, designing the poster, cooking and serving the food. This, with the smaller turn up, allowed us to turn a small profit for the night so that we were still able to contribute $100 to the hall for hire.

The Rosebank Music Club has created a great team and we have learned over the course of this season of six events how to make a good night of it. We have been able to contribute to both local halls with some $350 in hall hire and we have bought tables and chairs to improve facilities.

We plan to return to Repentance Creek Hall in September then have a night at Rosebank Hall in October. So when it comes around again, and the weather warms up please do try to make it along—it’s a great night, for you and the kids as well.
